Ms Wilma Ruth Varner

Ms. Wilma Ruth Varner, age 90, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023.

Wilma was born April 17, 1933, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Judd and Velma Chandler. She was a member of the Red Bank Baptist Church.  Wilma enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She was the rock and the glue that held her family together.

In addition to her parents Wilma was also preceded in death by her husband Theodore “Bud” Varner, and a great grandson Bryson Scott.

Surviving are her son, Kyle Varner (Dee Dee); daughter, Jill Elliot (Doug); grandchildren; Jennifer Simpson (Wade), Ashley Varner, Josh Scott (Ashley), and Jessica Scott; great-grandchildren; Kyla Tallent, and Lilly Scott; great-great grandson, Asher Cameron.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 17, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Dr. Fred Steelman officiating.   Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Wade Simpson, Josh Scott, Mac Fritz, David Fritz, Zac Salser, and Judson Dunn.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service at funeral home.
