Susan Ray Patterson

Susan Ray Patterson, 69, of Fort Oglethorpe passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Susan was a Worthy Patron to the Order of the Eastern Star. Susan worked for Mountain

City Stove Company before dedicating her life to raising her children and grandchildren.

Before moving to North Georgia, Susan enjoyed serving her North Chattanooga

neighborhood where she was born and spent the majority of her life.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Gary Patterson; daughter,

Candy Lockhart; father, Coolidge Ray Newman; and mother, Peggy Jean Gregory Newman.

Survivors include her daughter, Kim (Matt) Culbreth; sister, Linda Hall; five grandchildren,

Rebecca, Haley, and Mark Lockhart, Kayleigh and Kasen Culbreth; nephew, Dewayne

(Sonya) Hix; niece, Kristie (Gene) Walker; and great-nieces, Katlin and Rebekah Walker.

The family will receive friends 10am – 12pm Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Lane Funeral Home

on Ashland Terrace, a graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Park will follow with

Pastor David Crane officiating.
