Samuel Franklin Garrett

Samuel Franklin Garrett, 87 of Signal Mountain, died April 26, 2020. He was born May 6, 1932, the son of Junius and Nell R. Garrett. Sam is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Linda Marie Garrett and survived by: daughter, Mary (Danny) Hixson, granddaughter, Laura (Jason) Dye, great-granddaughters, Anna and Destiny Davenport. He also leaves dear friends, Roger Witenbery, Todd Overbay, Otis Potts and a host of extended family and friends. Sam is retired from the State of Tennessee after 38 years and a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church of Riceville, TN. Sam is a former member of the Red Bank Masonic Lodge #717 F & AM, Ham Radio Association, WPCA Car Club as well as White Oak Baptist Church. Sam enjoyed his job with the State of Tennessee where he made many friends that were much like family. He also held a great respect for the Tennessee State Patrol. Visitation will be held from 10am-2pm Thursday, April 30, 2020, with procession for committal service thereafter at Lee Cemetery, McDonald, TN with Pastor Gary King officiating.
