Below are the heart felt words Kate wrote shortly after Robert’s passing.

You were the first person that I ever told my past to that believed me. You vowed from that moment on that no one would ever hurt me again. While we have had a hell of a rollercoaster ride of a marriage, you always protected me the best way that you knew how. I know that. And I know how much you sincerely love me.

We have laughed about the “candy koolaid” for years. We laughed about goofy things the kids said or did - “what s**t, Daddy?” As we got older and finally had the ability, we traveled to so many places and enjoyed some pretty incredible memories together. Cruises were definitely our favorite way to go. Your passion for the fur babies and taking in strays - human and fur alike. Your passion for adventuring. Your passion for helping others - like all of the work that you did for charities through the HRCCC and RMH. The impact that you have made on so many people. It’s all pretty incredible. YOU have been pretty incredible.

There are so many things that I wish could have been different. The reasons for our separation. The trials we faced through the years. And yet, even though I wish those circumstances were different, I wouldn’t change a thing. Because it was those trials that forged who we are to both each other and to all of those around us.

I love you for the Bobert that you have always been and continue to be. I will always continue to love you.

I am comforted knowing that you are at peace. I am comforted knowing that your pain and suffering are finally coming to an end as you meet our Father in Heaven. Give Spyro and the other fur babies some extra loving for me. And know… you will see me again in Heaven. Until then, I know that you will continue to protect me.

Rest easy my love. Left one kid. Nightlight…

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
