Robert Elwin Janney

Bob Janney, 88, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on December 26, 2021. He was the son of the late Luther and Ruth Janney. Bob was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Withrow High School and Miami University. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. After graduating from college, Bob served in the Air Force.

Bob’s successful career in the insurance industry brought him and his family to Chattanooga where he worked for Provident Life & Accident. Bob left Provident to own and operate Crystal Cubes Ice Company and the Buck Stove Store. Bob was an avid skier and a member of the Chattanooga Ski Club. Bob and his wife, Jeanne, led many ski trips to destinations in the U.S. and Europe. Bob was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 50 years, Jeanne; his son, Wade; and, his sister, Shirley Hart. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Raulston (John); son, Alan Janney (Beth); grandchildren – Web Raulston; Jake Raulston (Liz); Cole Janney; Benjamin Janney; and, great-grandchildren – Parks, Alley, and Collins Raulston.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 700 Pine Street, Chattanooga, TN, 37402
