Tribute

Rickey Lee Farmer, 52, left this earth on November 9, 2021. He is now sharing his stories, jokes, and his sense of humor with our Lord and Savior. His earthly life began on October 22, 1969 in Chattanooga TN. He filled many roles being a loving husband, father, son, brother, family, and friend. Capturing his essence and love of life is impossible because he lived a large life making friends everywhere he traveled. His sudden and unexpected death leaves many grieving.

Rickey’s love for family and friends was reflected in the way he lived his life. Outgoing and always willing to lend a hand. Being a jack of all trades, he had many skills that helped him help others. He work most of his life in the construction field. His most recent job being with Hamilton County.

Rickey is preceded in death by his dad, Samuel Lee Farmer who left this world just 10 months before. Rickey is also preceded in death by his aunts, uncles, and other family who he treasured spending time with. He attended the yearly Farmer Family Reunion with joy, and will be at the next one in spirit.

Rickey and his wife Bridget met as teenagers, and in later life found each other again. They were the best of friends. Those who witnessed them sharing their lives together, witnessed their great love, compatibility and shared sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, Bridget Farmer, Rickey is survived by his loving mother, Mary Evelyn Farmer, his only child, Ryan Farmer; brothers, Tony (Amy) Tommy (Vicky) Andrews and his nieces and nephews; Matthew Harvey, who he loved like a son. In recent years, Rickey stepped up serving as a role model to his niece, Savannah Haygood, helping to fill a void left by the death of her dad.

Rickey lived to hunt. His love of hunting, camping, and outdoor adventures started at a young age, and was in his blood. When he was not hunting, he also enjoyed playing pool. He played in the APA for years, and brought home many trophies showing off his skills.

In addition to his large and loving family, Rickey leaves behind a huge circle of friends. Rickey would have a message or memory to share with each family member, and friend. Take a moment and close your eyes, hear his voice, you know what he would say and share. His memories live on in our hearts.
