Richard Edward McCandless

Richard E. McCandless, Jr., 75, of Chattanooga, TN passed away on May 23, 2020. Richard was born in Sewickley, PA on July 28, 1944 to the late Richard E. McCandless and Dorothy (Pare) McCandless. During his early life, Richard lived with the family in the Mount Vernon, Ohio, area and graduated from East Knox High School. He married Cynthia Hoffman in 1966 and they celebrated 37 years of marriage until her passing in 2003. He is survived by his sister, Gail (McCandless) McDermott of Westerville, Ohio. During his lifetime, Richard worked in the printing and publishing business in service to Seventh-day Adventist institutions at a number of locations, including Takoma Park, MD, Loma Linda, CA, Angwin, CA, Lincoln, NE and Hagerstown, MD. A graveside service was conducted at the Tyner Cemetery, Chattanooga, TN, by Pastor Steven Grabiner of the East Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church.
