Polly Katherine Sanders

Polly Adkins Sanders age 89, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Polly was born December 23, 1929 to Laura Pearl Gibson and Percy Thornton Adkins. She was married to Billy Hugh Sanders on March 16, 1949. A graduate of Kirkman Vocational High School, Polly worked at Provident Insurance Company as an account analyst and at Dupont as a machine operator.
Polly was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Red Bank Baptist for 57 years. She served in the choir, through different ministries of the church, and as a faithful witness to Jesus Christ through her relationships at work and in the community. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years. She is also survived by her son Van Sanders, his wife Beth and their children Anna Shelton Sanders (Matt), Philip Sanders (Anna), David and by great grandchildren, Ian, Oliver, Adelynn Elizabeth, Emmett Van, and Riley. Surviving nieces are Donna Cagle (Jackie), Monta Marlow and Linda Jones. There are many other family members and friends too numerous to list who loved and supported Polly.
Visitation is Thursday (7/25) 4pm-7pm and Friday (7/26) 10 am-12 noon.
Services are 12:30 Friday in the chapel at Lane Funeral Home with Dr. Fred Steelman and Bill Harvey officiating.
