Michael Andrew Smith

It is with deep sadness the Smith Family announces the death of Michael Smith.  Michael passed away on March 3, 2023 in his home.  Most of you know about Michael. He was born with cystic fibrosis and beat all the odds year after year.  He was an inspiration to so many others.

When he had his double lung transplant at Vanderbilt Hospital, he was told the lungs would last five to six years, but 23 years later, Michael beat those odds. He showed us that no matter what cards you’re given in life, you keep going until God decides it was time for him to rest. Today he is feasting and celebrating his new, flawless body with Jesus.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Smith; father, Cecil Smith (Carolyn); sister, Stacie Morgan (Josh); niece, Katelyn Morgan; nephew, Andrew Morgan; aunt, Jerri Smith Prudhomme; uncle, Ed Crumley; cousins: Kim Mull, Rhonda Adams and Josh Crumley.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Pastor Brian Morris, Daniel McEvoy, Michael Pack and IBEW 175 for their friendship.

A celebration of life will be 4:00-6:00 pm April 22, 2023 at Chester Frost Park, Campsite #174.  Michael loved fishing, camping and watching the sunset.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
