Melvin Wilkey went home to be with the Lord on May 21st 2020 at the Age of 72. Melvin resided in Soddy Daisy, TN his entire life. Melvin, in his final days of battling cancer, was cared for by his wife and family at his home in Soddy Daisy (Ward Town). Melvin was born to Leonard Wilkey and Ruby Ward Wilkey on February 8th 1948. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of Fifty years, Judy Kay Wilkey; his children: Melvin DeWayne Wilkey Spouse Tracy Lynn Wilkey, Melisha Ann (Wilkey) Leveille spouse Charles Leveille, Amy Marie (Wilkey) Burge spouse Brandon Burge. Grandchildren: Jackson, Madison, Benjamin, Allyson, Aiden, Micah, Izabel, Kenadi, Marley. Melvin was predeceased by his Parents Leonard Wilkey and Ruby Ward Wilkey; siblings Janie, Emma Lee, Ricky (Ringer), David, Marvin, Charles, Lester, Christine, Carolyn and Grandson Trevor. Survived by his Siblings Hazel Tate, Rosy Lovelady, Jewel Reynolds, James Wilkey and many nieces and nephews. Melvin Wilkey will lie in state at Lane Funeral Home on Monday the 25th. The Family will receive visitors from 5:00-7:00 pm. Melvin’s Celebration of Life will be held at his church, Soddy Church of God on Back Valley Rd Soddy Daisy, TN of more than thirty years on Tuesday the 26th beginning at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Dad, you must know that you are loved and you will be missed by many. While we sit here and mourn and sing in celebration, you, Sir, will be in awe of the heavenly wonders that we all long for. You sir have won the battle and you are in celebration of your new heavenly home. You have loved many and you have served many. “Man oh Man” we miss you already. “I wreckon” your memory will live in many. “My Goodness” what a celebration it must be. “I Guess” it is ok that you beat us there and I suppose “It’il do” ‘til we meet you there.
