Maxine Woods Dempsey, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep to go be with the lord on July 25, 2022. She was born July 12, 1928 to parents, Chanty and Maggie Woods. She was the 6th of 12 children
A native of W. Virginia her, her sister and niece moved to Chattanooga in 1954 where she met her husband, Robert Dempsey. They were married 43 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Robbie Hollis and 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Wycuff & partner Stanley Defur; brother, Jack (Doris) Woods; grandchildren, Bryan Hollis and Christy (Jimmy) Smith; great-grandchildren: Shannon, Courtney and Matthew; six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held in Chattanooga Cemetery. Mask required
