Martha Ann "Marti" Brown, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away at her home on Monday, May 7th, 2018, with her family by her side.
She is survived by one daughter, Leighann Potter, two grandsons, Julian and Jayden, and one brother, Butch Brown, and niece, Jennifer Brown all of Chattanooga.
Her many accomplishments include releasing a self-titled album with Atlantic Records in 1973. She performed at the Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall and went on three world tours, performing for our military troops while overseas.
When she came back to Chattanooga, she worked as an Art Director for a local advertising firm. She sang at local jazz clubs, including The Jazz Junction and The Blue Note.
Her voice, quirky sense of humor and contagious laughter blessed all who were fortunate to know her. She was one of a kind and lived her life with compassion and zeal. She considered her grandsons, Julian and Jayden, her biggest accomplishments. She loved them fiercely and with all of her heart.
Sing with the angels now, Marti. We will always carry your song in our hearts.
Visitation will be Friday 12:00 to 2:00 pm, with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 pm at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace.
