Marsha Dean Acuff McNatt, 62, who recently moved back to Chattanooga, Tennessee, was peacefully welcomed into the arms of her loving Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born and raised in Chattanooga and was proud to be the very first person to ever graduate from Boyd Buchanan School, where she played basketball. In 1987, she was set up on a blind date with Jed McNatt, whom she was married to for 31 years before he was welcomed into the arms of Jesus. They set a wonderful Christian example of how Jesus loved the church as His bride. Together they had three children who were their pride and joy, and were all dedicated members of Burnt Hickory Church of Christ. Since moving back to Chattanooga, she was a member of Red Bank Church of Christ. She loved worshipping in song and spending time with her church family. Her favorite place to be was at the beach or camping on the lake with her family, and she loved when “all her kiddos were home.” She is remembered for her love of Jesus and His people, her infectious smile, her caring disposition, and fun personality.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jed Albert McNatt of Atlanta, GA; her father, Max Edward Acuff; and mother, Barbara Jane Watt Acuff.
She is survived by her three children: Melody McNatt Williams (Christian), Molly McNatt, and Max McNatt; her sisters: Nancy Gurganus (Mike), Jan Beckham (Mark), and Jill Reese (Tommy); as well as many other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, many of which called her Aunt Marshmellow.
Visitation will be at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 with a service to follow. A graveside service will be held in Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Avenue SW, Marietta, GA 30064 on Saturday, September 9 at 12:00.
