MARY AILEEN PIERCE

Mary Pierce, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 25, 2019.

Mary was born September 2, 1933 in Christiansburg, VA to the late Everett and Stella Harris.  She earned her R.N. degree from William and Mary and worked as a nurse in various positions throughout her career.  She was an active member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church.  She volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House for over 20 years and was an avid bridge player.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Dr. Frederick G. Pierce.  Survivors include her son, John (Cindy) Pierce, daughter, Lynn (Joe) Ashton, three grandchildren, Taylor Ashton, Scott Pierce, and Courtney Pierce, as well as much-loved "brother and sister", Ray W. Grubbs and Mary Peyton Yehle.

Services will be held privately with family.
