Loyd Ray Kindiger, 87, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023. He was born and grew up in Texas. He was a 1958 graduate of Baylor University. He met Marjorie Schmitt at Baylor and they married June 14, 1958. He was an avid Baylor fan and longtime member of the Heritage Club. Ever since his teenage years, he knew God was calling him to special ministries. He received his MRE at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and served as Minister of Education east of the Mississippi including GA, VA, NC, TN and AL. He went on multiple mission trips and was involved in multiple mission causes. He was an active member of White Oak Baptist Church having served on the staff and once retired, a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Raymond and Ethel Marie Kindiger; and his brother, Harold Kindiger.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Kindiger; sons, Larry Kindiger (Beverly) and David Kindiger (Angela); grandchildren: Maedean, Kaitlyn, Caroline (Nick Lombardy), Grace (Josh) Clift, Denver (Lydia), Luke, Hope, Claire, Faith and Joshua; one great-granddaughter, Olive Clift; brother, Theron Kindiger (Lavenia); several nieces and nephews in Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the White Oak Baptist Church Missions Fund in Loyd’s Memory.
Visitation is 4:00-7:00 pm Friday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at White Oak Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, also at the church. Dr. Tony Wilson will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
