Lena Beatrice "Bea" Rowe Johnson

Lena Beatrice “Bea” Rowe Johnson, formerly of Red Bank, passed away on December 25 in Newton, NC at age 98. She was born on December 1, 1923 in Craven Co., North Carolina. She moved to this area in 1946 with her husband Tink A. Johnson, Jr. They had been married for 53 years at the time of his death in 1997 and both were long-time members of White Oak Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon J. Howse (Jerry) of Berryville, VA, a son, Dr. Tink A. Johnson III (Margaret) of Statesville, NC., a brother, A.A. Rowe, Jr. (Eva) of Milledgeville, GA, and a sister, Patricia Rowe Morgan (Whit) of New Bern, NC. Also surviving are grandsons CDR. Christopher Howse (Melissa) of Virginia Beach, VA, Jonathan Howse (Christine) of Melbourne, FL, Aston Johnson and Ellison Johnson, both of Statesville, NC plus twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace in Chattanooga from 10 AM to 12 Noon on Friday January 7th with a graveside service at 2 PM at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
