Tribute

Laura Lee Milburn, 91, of Signal Mountain, passed away March 6th, 2019. Born in Monroeville, AL, to the late Isaac Lee and Stella Dean Lee. She was valedictorian of her high school class in Excel, AL, and later graduated from the University of Alabama Jefferson Hillman School of Nursing in 1950, where she served as class president. She was a 1st LT in the United States Air Force  and completed anesthesia training at Wilford Hall in San Antonio, TX, and became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 1953. She was a member of Signal Crest United Methodist Church, and will always be remembered for her kindness and loving spirit. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joseph L. Milburn, and her brother, Isaac Lee Jr, who was killed in the Korean War. Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Barbara Lee Riley and brothers Gerald Lee, Titus Lee, John Paul Lee and Hugh David Lee; sons, Dr Joseph L. Milburn Jr and wife Dr. Laura Sears of Dallas, TX, and David M. Milburn and wife Judy of Madison, AL; daughter, Catherine L. Milburn and husband David Krusenklaus of Lexington, KY; granddaughters, Mary Brynn Milburn and Joan Leslie Milburn, both of Dallas, TX; grandsons, Adam Krusenklaus of Virginia Beach, VA, and Dustin McNeal and wife Teryn, of Hendersonville, TN; great-grandson, Harrison McNeal and great-granddaughter, Avery McNeal, both of Hendersonville, TN. A visitation will be held from 12-1p.m. at the church. The Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday March 14th at Signal Crest United Methodist Church, 1005 Ridgeway Ave, Signal Mountain, TN 37377, with Pastor Doug Fairbanks officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga (4411 Oakwood Dr Chattanooga, TN 37416).
