Mr Kenneth Claude Hixson
June 7, 1942 ~ June 11, 2022 (age 80) 80 Years Old
Be the first to offer your condolences on Kenneth's Tribute Wall
Kenny went to be with his Heavenly Father on June 11, 2022 at the age of 80 years old. He was surrounded by family. He was a resident of Hixson, Tennessee. He attended Fairview United Methodist Church in his youth.
Kenny is survived by his wife Cheryl, stepson Damon White, brother-in-law Steven Littrell and wife Jackie, mother-in-law Evelyn Littrell, cousins Phyllis Massengale and Claudia Hamrock, his beloved dog Gigi, as well as many close friends.
He was preceded on death by his parents Jessie Faye Hixson and Kenneth Adam Hixson, his Aunt Newbie and Uncle Claude Hixson Jr.
Kenny led a very adventurous life. After graduating from Hixson High School, he went into military. He returned from the military, and after doing various union jobs in the area, he embarked on a career with the government. He lived in Panama and did vessel admeasurement in the Panama Canal. He returned to the states and lived in Texas, then Maryland, and worked in Washington DC. Upon retiring he settled back in his hometown of Hixson.
Kenny was an avid waterman. He was happiest when he was on the water. He taught W.O.W. (Women on the Water). Kenny was a Dock Master at Marine Max. He was known by many in the boating community as “El Capitan” because of his excellent boating skills. Kenny was a member, officer, and trustee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #945. His Eagles Club family became his second family. Kenny had a larger than life personality, never met a stranger, and was quite a prankster. He loved to make people laugh. He was a very giving person with a huge heart. Kenny loved to travel and was always ready for the next adventure at a moment’s notice. He will forever be in our hearts and will be missed more than anyone can imagine.
A celebration of life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club at 6130 Airways Boulevard, Chattanooga, TN 37421, on June 26th at 3:00 – 6:00pm.
