Joseph “Joe” A. Downs, 92, passed away at home, February 12, 2021. His wife of 52 years, Mary “Pat” Eva Head, predeceased him in May, 2002. He is survived by four children; Mrs. Lisa M. (William) Cascio, Mill Valley, CA, Mr. Joseph B. (Vanessa) Downs, Hixson, TN, Mrs. Lynne D. (Ted) Schaefer, Houston, TX and Mr. Donald F. (Tammy) Downs, Hopewell Junction, NY, nine grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. He's grateful for the special friendship and companionship of Mary Chasteen whom he met in ballroom dance lessons 18 years ago. He served 4 years in the Air Force during the Korean War and was employed by IBM in Poughkeepsie NY for 36 years, retiring to Chattanooga, TN in 2001. His hobbies were repairing clocks, ballroom dancing and doing volunteer tax preparation with Vita and AARP. Burial will be in Bardstown, KY.
