Jean Davison Duffy Parker age 75 of Chattanooga passed away on October 24, 2017. She was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Hixson and was a school teacher for 38 years retiring from Hamilton County Schools. Mrs. Parker was a 1959 graduate from GPS and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she was a member of PI Beta Phi Sorority. She was an avid tennis player, a member of the Soddy Daisy Hiking Club, a volunteer at Episcopal Metropolitan Ministries and Inner Faith Hospitality/St. Catherine’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, The Reverend M. David Parker Sr.; son, M. David Parker Jr.; parents Owen and Zenora Duffy; and son-in-law, Mike Faulkner. Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Laura Faulkner and son, Owen Parker and wife Erika; grandchildren, Meghan O’Connor, Trey Parker and Sydney Parker; brothers, Peter Duffy and wife Pam and Michael Duffy; sisters, Karen Duffy Kromer and husband Ted, Alison Duffy and Laura Duffy Moore. A Vigil will be held Friday 7 pm to 9 pm and Funeral Service Saturday 11 am at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church 7514 Hixson Pike with The Reverend Steve Eichler and The Reverend Robert Hartmans officiating. The interment will follow at Lakewood South Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alz.org , the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at afsp.org or St. Alban’s Church.
