Janice Walker, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away on July 14, 2020. Born in Joliet, Illinois the daughter of (late) Howard and Madeline (Schroeder) Bitterman. She was a 1964 graduate of Morristown, TN High School and went on to graduate from East Tennessee State University. She married Lynn Walker in 1966 and enjoyed 46 years of marriage before Lynn’s passing in 2012. She spent many years working as a homemaker, raising her children, and later re-entered the workforce as an executive secretary. She also cherished the time she spent taking care of preschool children at the St. Jude School aftercare program. Janice was a creative woman who loved sewing, needlepoint, and crafting. She was especially proud of being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Chattanooga, TN and was a pro-life supporter. Janice is loved by a son, Chris (Rosanna) Walker, of Chattanooga, daughter, Tressa Walker, of Murfreesboro, seven grandchildren, Kyle (Christina) Windham, Alice Walker, Sally Keener, Christian Keener, Ezekiel Walker, Eli Walker, and Alizah Walker, one great-grandchild, Mylon Windham and a sister, Mary Claire Eslinger (James) of Dandridge. A private Catholic funeral Mass at St. Jude Church will be posted to Janice’s Facebook page. She will be laid to rest at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, next to her husband. Details, including flowers or donations in her name, will be announced through Facebook.
