Jane Wilson Hetzel, 92, was born on January 12,1929 in Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on October 20, 2021. Jane was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Bill Stone Hetzel, whom she was married to for sixty-three years. Her parents, William O. and Sarah Adelaide Wilson, and nine of her ten siblings.

She is survived by her sister, Jean Wilson Jackson; children, Marcia Gribben, Steve Hetzel (Tena) and Michele Laney (Vick). She was known as "Mimi" to nine grandchildren: Julie Brandt, Jeffrey Gribben, Gus Hetzel (Jennifer), Zachary Hetzel, Kaki Flynn (Tim), Nicholas Laney (Maggie), Sarah Jane Weaver (Barry); eleven great-grandchildren: Hunter Brandt, Abbie Gribben, Katelyn, Ashlyn and Colin Hetzel, Kaiya and Jackson Laney, Raelyn Jane and Laney Kate Weaver, Logan and Auggie Flynn. She was also known as "Aunt Jane" to many nieces, nephews and their families.

Jane loved her family and supported her children in everything they did. She loved being homeroom mother, scout leader, Sunday School and VBS teacher, helping with youth activities at church and was an avid Red Bank football fan when Steve played. When she became a grandmother and great- grandmother she showered those babies with her love too.

A longtime member of Red Bank Baptist Church, she taught third grade Sunday school for many years and also taught in the Child Development Center four year old and two year old classes. She touched many children’s lives throughout her life.

The last few years were hard because dementia took her memory of us away but she was the same Jane we all knew and loved. She always had a smile and hello for everyone she saw. We appreciate the love and care she received at Life Care of Cleveland, especially from her great niece Jeanne McCuiston, who she saw daily. Thank you Jeanne, we will forever be grateful that you were there, loving her especially during the Covid quarantine when we could not be there.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 12:00-2:00 PM. A funeral will follow at 2:00 PM in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
