Jane Newton Blevins passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 and is now in Heaven with Jesus. She was a member of Stuart Heights Baptist Church; she was a strong Christian lady and a great example of Christ’s love to all who knew her. She was the daughter of the late James Calvin and Bertha (Metcalf) Newton and loving mother, Annie Newton. She was born August 20, 1934 in Bridgeport, Alabama where she grew up in the Bridgeport area and graduated Bridgeport High School with High Honors. In June of 1953, she married Roland N. “Sonny” Blevins, Jr. and they celebrated life together for 51 years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who dearly loved her family. Her favorite place to be was with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she always found time to be with them. She worked at Provident, several dentist offices, Kingston, Delta Airlines, and Parkridge Cardiothoracic Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland N. Blevins Jr., brothers, Buddy Newton, Billy (Betty) Newton and Tommy Howard. She is survived by her son, Michael N. (Pam) Blevins, daughter, Laura B. (Tim) Reagan, grandchildren, Mitchell (Tiffaney) Reagan, Brandon Blevins, Jamie (Carolyn) Reagan, Katie (Matt) Bradley, Courtney Clingan, Brooke (Grant) Barry, Candace (Stephen) Archer, 14 wonderful great-grandchildren that she adored Peyton, Charles, Alexia, Autumn, Lexi, Russell, Trinity, Katie, Charlotte, Collins, Liam, Addie, Marshall, and Maddox). She is also survived by Dale (Bobbie) Blevins, Cynthia Newton, Carolyn Looney, Jack (Margaret) Howard, Jerry (Mable) Howard and several nieces, nephews and their families. Visitation will be Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 12-1 PM at Lane Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 1pm in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Jared officiating. There will be a private commital service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stuart Heights Baptist Church, Morning Pointe of Hixson, or Hospice of Chattanooga.
