James Truman McCamy, 82 of Hixson, passed away January 4, 2022 He was born in Scottsboro, Alabama on February 23, 1939, the son of the late Finnis and Rosa Lee McCamy. James Truman was preceded in death by his brother Billy Wayne McCamy. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Wanda June McCamy. His sons Steve (Carolyn) McCamy and Tony (Emily) McCamy. Two step-daughters Sheila (Greg) Long and Lisa (Raul) Ruiz. Ten grandchildren: Jason (Stephanie) Long, Melissa (Brad) Harvey, Heather (Nathan) Greene, Carmen (Christopher) Millard, Brittany (Josh) Williams, Brigette Prince, Aristeo Ruiz, Rachel McCamy, Asante Ruiz, and Alexandra McCamy. Also, eight great grandchildren: Levi, Callie, Caroline, Mason, Bryce, Chloe, Charlotte and Brooklyn. Two sisters Mary (Al) Murphy and Linda Sullivan. One sister-in-law, Angela McCamy and several nieces and nephews. James Truman, fondly known as J.T., loved Alabama Football and doting over his Grand and Great Grandchildren, He loved the lake, both on his boat or sitting by it in a hammock on the dock. He also enjoyed traveling and gardening. He retired from Combustion (Alstom Power) in 2004 after 47 years of service. A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday January, 2022 at 3 P.M. from the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor George Cupp officiating. .Interment will be private. The Gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 1 P.M. until the hour of the service. As an expression of sympathy or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to support T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.
