Ida Ann Brown

Ida Ann Brown passed away peacefully on Monday morning October 25th at the age of 90, She went to be with the Lord and her beloved son, Terry.  Ann was 90 years old and had been cared for by her loving daughter and family in their home in White, GA for the last 2 years. Ann was born June 1st, 1931 in Atlanta, GA.  She was raised in Atlanta & Savannah before moving to Chattanooga, TN.  She studied at the University of TN and went on to become a school teacher.  She taught at Hillcrest Elementary for 37 years, then other local schools for another 9 years.  All the children loved Mrs. Brown.  After her son Terry suffered from a brain injury in a car accident, she spent time advocating for improvements in the treatment of mental health and brain injuries. She had two children of her own, Terry & Melody, son-in-law Ken; three grandchildren: Ashley, Alex & Matthew; and three great-grandchildren: Julian, Jayden & Ava.  She was also close with her niece, Susan; and nephews, Ben & Michael. Ann loved spending time with her family and always put them first.  She was a loving, caring, determined and dedicated woman who overcame all the challenges life presented.  She will be greatly missed by her family & friends. Sleep peacefully our Nana. We all love you and will miss your presence, wit and guidance in our lives. Until we meet again, we will continue your legacy.Visitation is at Lane Funeral Home in Chattanooga, TN, October 28th from 12:30-1:30, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 in Lakewood Memory Gardens South, Rossville GA.
