Louise Ward Patton went home to meet her Lord on September 21, 2021, surrounded at home by her loving family. Louise was born July 10, 1928, in Pennington Gap, VA. Louise graduated from Pennington Gap High School in 1946 and then moved to the Chattanooga area. She began her career at
Davenport Hosiery Mills and worked there until her children were born. After her children entered school, she worked in various capacities as a bookkeeper, a real estate agent, and then retiring from Family and Children’s Services. It wasn’t until after her retirement that she found the job that meant
the most to her: that was nursery worker/caregiver. She has helped shape the lives of hundreds of small children through her loving care for them in the nurseries at Concord Baptist Church, Brainerd Hills Baptist Church, and Brainerd Baptist Church. Affectionately known as “Ms. Weezie”, Louise loved those little children and her home was filled with precious mementos from all of them. Louise was also an avid bowler and golfer. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bessie Ward of
Dayton, TN; infant sister, Francis Geraldine Ward of Pennington Gap, VA; sister, Flora Lee Hurd of Hamilton, OH, and a brother, William Thomas Ward of Dayton, TN. She is survived by her children: Penny (Ed) Armstrong of Dunlap, TN, and Mike (Vivian) Patton of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren: Amanda Armstrong and Emily (Brian) Richmond, of Murfreesboro, TN, and Jeffrey Patton of Chattanooga, TN; step-grandchildren: Kim (Jon) Lamparter of Dunlap, TN, Will Easterly of Ringgold, GA, and Ashley Easterly (Austin Lansing) of Chattanooga, TN; great-grandchildren: Gabriella, Owen, and Brooklynn Richmond of Murfreesboro, TN, and Autumn and Harrison Patton of Albany, GA; step-great-grandchildren: Tyler, Justin, and Kaylie Lamparter of Dunlap, TN; Carter Easterly of Chattanooga, TN; and Eliyahu and Kemberly Lansing of Chattanooga, TN; and step great-great grandchild: Easton Lamparter, of Dunlap, TN. She is also survived by her siblings: Jaunita Henson of Indianapolis, IA; James (Marie) Ward of Gresham, OR, and Doris (Earnie) Samples of Bellville, TX; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Ward, of Dayton, TN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.Louise was a long-time member of Concord Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Lane Funeral Home - Ashland Terrace,Monday, September 27, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with services to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Coulter Chapel with Rev. David King officiating. Pallbearers will be Will Easterly, Jon Lamparter, Brian Richmond, Owen Richmond, and Earnie Samples. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hearth Hospice.
