Grady Avery Ragan, Jr., passed away at his home on June 26, 2020, at the age of 85. Grady was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Avery Ragan, Sr. and Alma Ragan, and son, Robert B. Ragan. Grady is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Chaffin (Burch) Ragan. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Grady (Yvette) Avery Ragan, III, of Signal Mountain, TN; his grandchildren Robert (Kristin) Ragan of Red Bank, TN, Rachael Ragan of Connecticut, and Cameron Ragan of Red Bank, TN, and many other loved ones. Grady was born in Chattanooga, TN on November 18, 1934. He graduated from City High School in 1953 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1957 from the University of Chattanooga. He worked as a gold plating engineer at 3M/GE for 35 years and Alcoa Chemicals in San Diego, CA for five years. He was one of the original members of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum and worked with them for over 50 years. Grady was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church of Signal Mountain, TN. He enjoyed restoring trains and wartime planes, traveling the world, history, and gardening. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 1-2 pm at Lane Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm, in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Rev.
