Gordon Smith

Gordon G. Smith Sr., 86, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020. Gordon was born July 5th, 1934 in Ogden, NY and raised in Brockport.  He was a 1952 graduate of Brockport High School and from The State University of NY at Buffalo in 1956. Gordon is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Anne Marie (George) Smith. He is survived by his second wife, Monteen (Davis) Smith; and his three children, Gordon Jr. (Jo), of Knoxville, TN., Lee Anne McCarthy, of Snellville, GA., and Maggie Stormant, of Jacksonville, FL., and his seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Kristin and Kathleen Smith, Marlee Camp (Andrew), Rachel, Matthew, and Grace Stormant. A resident of Signal Mountain for the past 45 years, Gordon Smith was a devout Catholic and attended mass daily at the AV Chapel. He was involved in the leadership for wood working at Alexian Village and in charge of the UTC Scholarship Fund for many years. A loving family man, father, grandfather and husband. Gordon will be remembered for his sloppy kisses, hilarious jokes and generous heart. He enjoyed boating, woodworking and being with his family. A memorial mass will be held at St. Augustine Chapel with interment to follow at the St. Augustine Columbarium the date and time have not yet been set and will be announced later."
