Tribute

Flora (Flo) W. Warren, 93, of Jacksonville, FL, went to live with her Heavenly Father on November 20, 2021

Flo was born on October 26, 1928, in Elba, AL. She graduated from Coffee County High School, Enterprise, AL and attended Murray State College, Murray, KY. She lived in Jacksonville, FL for over 60 years where she had a career as a travel agent that began in 1964. She loved to travel, both domestically and abroad, and always took Sheryl along. As a Christian, she suffers no more and rests is the arms of her beloved Savior. In Jacksonville, she was an active member of Swaim Memorial United Methodist Church for over 60 years, a member of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class, and a long-time member of its choir where she sang her Lord’s praises. She was also active in and held leadership roles in the United Methodist Women. Her church friends were her social life. She was blessed with the gift of playing the piano “by ear,” and she shared her gift with her church, family, and friends. Following retirement from her career as a travel agent, she enjoyed volunteering with the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Jacksonville and met many cherished friends through her volunteer work. In 2017, she moved to Chattanooga, TN to be close to her family. She enjoyed almost 2 years living independently at The Continental before she began living with Sheryl and Jim.

She was, and her family is, grateful to God for those who lovingly helped to care for her. This is an excerpt from the poem she left her family, “…let your grief be comforted by faith. It’s only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories that lie within your heart.”

She is survived by her daughter and only child, Sheryl (Jim) Kreis, her two grandchildren Jennifer (Chad) Kreis Sikes and Matthew (Tatum) Warren Kreis, and four great-grandchildren, Claire and Win Sikes and Marshall and Bo Kreis. Her most cherished activities and memories involved being part of her family’s lives. A special thank you to Gladys Stenstrom for her ministry of beautiful, hand-made cards which brought cheer and encouragement.

Her family will honor her with a private family service at Signal Crest United Methodist Church, Signal Mountain.
