Elizabeth Love Everett

December 15, 1929 ~ July 7, 2021 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Tribute

Early Wednesday morning Heaven opened its gates wide to welcome Elizabeth Love Everett home. We are sure that the light shined a little brighter when her jeweled crown was placed upon her head (possibly designed by her daughter Susan). Elizabeth’s foundation of life was built upon her faith. She had a vibrant soul that shed the Lord’s light wherever she was present. This was reflected in her beautiful smile and compassion for others. She never judged anyone and gave her golden wisdom and advice only if you asked for it. Her family often called her a saint because her sweetness prevented her from saying an unkind word to anyone.

Elizabeth graduated with a Master’s degree in English from Middle Tennessee University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She taught 9th grade English for many memorable years. Teaching and guidance came naturally to her; she led by true example not only in her religion but for all humanity as a whole.

She was a long-time member of Red Bank Cumberland Presbyterian Church and taught a women’s Sunday school class for many years. She loved making fabulous Sunday dinners after church for her children and grandchildren, gardening, reading, writing poems, chocolate, and mini Oreos.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Everett, late husband, Herschel Love Jr.; parents, Herschel and Sadie Smith; brother, Frank Smith and sister, Maggie McNabb; daughter, Susan Levi and grandson, Slade Snodgrass. She blessed the lives of all her survivors with her patience, gentleness, kindness and unconditional love. We are forever grateful that the Lord provided us an angel in human form to walk among us.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Randy) Rawlston, son, Jack (Debra) Love; grandsons, Blake Rawlston, Chad (Jennifer) Love and Joshua Love and granddaughter, Shanna (Ryan) Scanlan. She was greatly cherished and adored by all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Rawlston, Chad Love, Ryan Scanlan, Daniel Love, Brian Arnold, and David Arnold.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at NHC Fort Oglethorpe for the excellent care and love shown to her with a special hug to “Nurse April”.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace with a funeral service to follow officiated by Pastor Jim Buttram in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
