Dana Mitchell Strunk, 86, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2020 in Red Bank. She was born in Fayetteville, TN on September 9, 1933. Chattanooga was her adopted hometown, and she loved singing its praises to all who would listen. She retired from First Tennessee as the president’s secretary in 1999. She was an active member of Scenic City Friends and served as secretary for the last 20 years. She loved to travel and spent her retirement years going to all the places she ever wanted to go to, especially places involving a casino! She loved her church where she was Sunday School Superintendent for 10 years, as well as serving on various committees. She was preceded in death by her parents, R.O. and Lucy Warren Mitchell and sister, Bettye Simmons. Survivors include her daughters, Leslie Lockard (Overland Park,KS) and Sandra Cunningham (Chattanooga); grandson, Chris Lockard (Kansas City, MO); granddaughter, Betsy Peters (Chattanooga); great-grandchildren, Kaci and Brooks; as well as her wonderful sons-in-law, Jim Cunningham and Don Lockard (Overland Park, KS); and various cousins. The family will receive friends 3:00-5:00 pm on Thursday, February 20th with funeral services beginning at 5:00 at White Oak Methodist Church, 2232 Lyndon Avenue, Chattanooga 37415. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to White Oak Methodist Church in her name.
