Con Calvin Smith Sr.

Con C. Smith Sr., 94, of East Ridge, died April 28, 2020. Con is retired from Broad Street Machine Company. He was a double Purple Heart recipient from WWII and also awarded the Bronze Star. Con served in the 96th Infantry of the Dead Eyes and served through the Battle of Okinawa and the Battle of the Philippines. Con is preceded in death by parents, Charles and Mattie Smith, wife, Ruth Smith, and daughter, Connie Jean Johnson. He is survived by daughter, Linda (Howard) Butler of East Ridge, sons, Con C. (Teresa) Smith Jr., of Tunnel Hill, GA. and Ken (Pam) Smith of Ringgold, GA, sister, Mildred Jordan of Chattanooga, and brother, Eddie Smith of Nashville, grandchildren, Tonya Moore, Josh Smith, and Laura Dill, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
