Cloey Lavern Stephens

June 7, 1929 ~ October 3, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old
Cloey Laverne Stephens, 88, of Signal Mountain, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at her home. Cloey was of the Baptist faith. She was a Gold Star Mother; her son CPL. Thomas Stephens was killed in the Vietnam War on May 12, 1970. Cloey was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was well known for her jams and jellies which she sold at the World’s Longest Yard Sale.
Cloey was preceded in death by her husband, L. Eugene Stephens; sons: CPL Thomas Stephens, Roy and Kenneth Stephens; and her sister.
Survivors include four children: Rita Waddell (Ricky), Rick Stephens (Pam), Delores Rowe (Patrick) and Van Stephens (Brenda); sister, Ruth Poole; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Lane Funeral Home, Chattanooga with Pastor Eric Greeson officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 Thursday in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Jeremy Stephens, Timothy Stephens, Coty Stephens, Alan Broom, Stuart Hale and Joseph Sims will serve as pallbearers.
