Charles Albert Stolz, 76, of Hixson, TN passed away on Wednesday, March 04, 2020 at his home with family by his side.
Charles was born on October 27, 1943 in Chattanooga, TN to Charles C Stolz and Mary J Stolz (Arwood). He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1962 followed by 2 years at Chattanooga State.
Charles joined the United States Air Force in 1966 earning the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as an Aircraft Mechanic through 1970. Soon after, Charles began his career as a Journeyman Carpenter working several years at Raines Brothers Construction and later retired from Hamilton County School Systems. Charles was also a lifelong member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church.
Charles was a hobbyist in a variety of areas including vintage car restoration plus maintaining and riding his tractors; referred to by Charles as John Deere therapy. Charles could fix anything and was the go to person for both family and friends to advise and assist on any number of issues.
Charles was a devoted husband to his wife of 55 years, Mary F Stolz (Dappert) and the best Daddy ever to his three daughters, Jenny I Stolz, Mary Beth Nicholson (husband Randy) and Charlotte A Cramer (husband Tracy). Charles was a wonderful grandfather and held the true admiration of four grandsons, Charley (wife Brittany), Ross, Rudy and Riley plus his great grandson, Hunter. Charles is also survived by his sister, Clara J Hooshmand (and nieces and nephews) of Vero Beach, FL and McEwen, TN.
Visitation will be Friday evening 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Memorial services will be on Saturday, March 7th at 12:30pm in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home in Chattanooga, TN. The burial will follow soon after at Mt Olivet Cemetery, East Ridge, TN.
