Charles E. Gentry

Charles Edward Gentry, 82, of Chattanooga, departed this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father on October 1, 2020 with his wife of 42 years at his side.  Charles was retired from Sherman & Reilly.  He was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church where he was saved in 1992.  He was a hard worker, never met a stranger and always helped those around him.  The joys of his life were his granddaughters, Madison and Adeline Moss and they will cherish their memories with him.  Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Gentry, daughters, Kitty (Johnny) Beaird, Sandy (Steven) Brooks and Lora (Matthew) Moss, sister, Frances McClure and a host of grandchildren.  Charles was preceded in death by his parents, James, Sr. and Perley (Green) Gentry and siblings, James Gentry, Bea Banther, Dorothy Davis and Ruth Adams.  Visitation will be held Monday, October 5, 2020 from 5-7pm and Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 1-2pm at Lane Funeral Home.  Graveside Funeral service will be held in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home Tuesday, October 6,2020 at 2pm with interment to follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park officiated by Bro.
