Betty Grace Snowden                                                                                                                                                    
Our precious mother Betty Grace Snowden passed away peacefully in her sleep May 5, 2017 while in the care of the loving nurses at Alexian Village of Signal Mountain. Betty was a homemaker, acting as both mother and father, after her husband Master Sergeant Ben David Snowden was killed in Vietnam in 1967. She not only loved her own family unconditionally, but also the many children she babysat throughout her life. She was a generous kind soul who loved and cared for everyone that came across her path.  Betty is preceded in death by her husband Master Sergeant Ben David Snowden and parents Emmitt Otis & Jessie Whitaker, sister Cathy Sherrill, and brother Otis Whitaker, Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Sharla Green (Dudley,Cole,and Jackson), Lisa Conner (Jay, Amanda, and Ashley), great grandchildren (Trenton, Olivia, and Brandon),and Sharla and Lisa’s brother, Volker Holt (Christopher, Ben, and Maddie). Along with her children, Betty will be missed greatly by her family, her loving friends, and the wonderful staff who made her last days on earth so very special.  Visitation will be held at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace from 4-6pm on Tuesday May 9,2017.
