Betty Sue Shelton passed over into Glory to be with her heavenly father on July 23rd, 2021.
She passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Shelton Sr., parents, William and Elizabeth Baugh, sister, Shirley Mowery and grandson, Franklin DeWayne Hudson. Betty was of Christian faith and a retired LPN from TCFPA Family Medical Center. Those left to cherish her memory: sons, Russell (Cristy) Shelton, Jr. and Randall Shelton, daughters, Rhonda (Terry) Mooney, Patricia Presley and Tonya (Mike) Evans, brothers, Billy Jack (Suzanne) Baugh, Jerry Wayne (Beverly) Baugh, Larry (Becky) Baugh, Michael (Elizabeth) Baugh, and sister, Carolyn Sledge. Betty is also survived by 11 grandchildren 43 great-grandchildren, 28 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Betty was a light that shined like no other, and her hugs, they were the best. Her voice without a doubt, reached the heavens when she sang, and today we know she is teaching all the Angels how to sing. She will forever be loved and missed. Special Thanks to Sharon Shelton, Evet Stewart and Evelyn Benton for being there for her in her final moments, and for caring for her. Thank you to Hospice, all the nurses and staff for their help during this tough time. Visitation will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Lane Funeral Home with funeral service to follow in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
