Betty Smith

Betty L. Smith, 83, of Suck Creek Mountain, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Hospice Care Center. She graduated from Copper Basin High School and McKenzie Business College. Betty was honorably discharged from the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Jerrol D. Smith and her parents, William and Nellie Irene Vest.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Smith; granddaughters, Brianna (Matthew) Harper and Kari (Sam) Ferrell; great-grandchildren: Gavin Rheal, Sawyer Harper, Kayden Ferrell, Alexis Harper, and Ryan Harper; brother, John Vest.

Visitation is 4:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Lane Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 11:00 am Thursday, April 21, 2022, in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Everyone will meet at Lane Funeral Home- Ashland Terrace at 10:15am to process to Chattanooga National Cemetery.
