Ms Betty Avonelle Leonard

Betty “Avonelle” Leonard, 91 of Hixson went home to be with her beloved Lord November 6, 2021. She was born on October 16, 1930 and passed away peacefully at the Lantern of Morning Pointe Hixson.
She was preceded in death by her parents John & Viola Reynolds & baby brother Bobby. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Kay (Jerry) Hatfield, a son David (Melissa) Leonard, two granddaughters Hannah (Matthew) Gunter, Kelsie Leonard & grandson Benjamin Leonard. She was eagerly awaiting the birth of her great grandson Ryker Lee Gunter due November 12, 2021.
She was a loving mother, grandmother & friend to many. She will be remembered as a woman who loved her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ above all. She was faithful member of Community Baptist Church in East Ridge & more recently a member of Calvary Baptist Red Bank.
She was a talented quilter & loved working in her yard. She loved studying her Bible & sharing God’s word. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Morning Pointe of Hixson, most recently the Lantern staff & Hearth Hospice for the loving care they all provided.
A Celebration of Life service will be Wednesday, November10, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home
With Brother Jerry Shannon, Pastor Mark Tyson, and Pastor Greg Powell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
I lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Children’s Advocacy Center Emmy Haney House in Avonelle’s memory.
