On July 29, 2021, Barbara Ann French (Dunn) peacefully passed away; she was 75. To friends and family, she was known as Bobbie. Bobbie was born on September 6, 1946, in Searcy, Arkansas, to Lola and John Dunn. On November 1, 1966, she married George W. French. They raised one son, Glenn, and two daughters, Denise and Theresa. On August 10, 1968, Barbara was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. This began her over 53- year walk of faith with Jehovah God. She developed many close personal friendships telling others about Jehovah and his wonderful promises. In 1985, Bobbie began working as a coordinator in the Business & Community Development Center at Chattanooga State Technical College. She went on to help hundreds of students on their college journey. In 1998, she was one of the original members to initiate the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) to the greater Chattanooga area. She touched the lives of many of her students. She went on to win awards as a continuing education student advocate. After 25 years of service, Bobbie retired from Chattanooga State in 2010. Bobbie was preceded in death by her mother and father. She’s survived by her husband, George, her children, Glenn (Denise) French, Denise Estes, and Theresa (Kipp) Coffman, siblings, Marla, Karen, Ray, Wayne, Gary, and Steve, grandchildren, Kayla, Jessica, Ashley, and Olivia, great-grandchildren, Emma and Alli. Barbara loved spending time with her family and leaves behind cherished memories with her many nieces and nephews.
