Arthur William Horton

Arthur William “Bill” Horton, 78, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and John Horton of Richmond Va., his sister Mary Ann Bailey and his brother Johnny Horton. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marjorie Horton, his three children, John (April) Horton, Karen (Paul) Melton and Eric Horton, his loving dog, Mandy, 7 grandchildren, Mikayla, Megan, Cody, Kelsey, Aidan, Brooklyn and Jonathan Horton, and 1 great-grandchild, Noah Horton. Bill was born in Bristol, VA and after high school he entered the Navy. He went to VCU and graduated with an accounting degree. He worked for the IRS for 32 years and ran a computer repair business from his home after retirement. He loved the outdoors and fishing was his pastime. He loved to teach his grandchildren to fish. He worked with the BSA for many years in the Richmond VA and Johnson City areas. In his life he has touched many lives and was always volunteering help and advice and never met a stranger. He will be remembered in the hearts of many and we love you and you will live in our hearts. We will meet again on that beautiful shore. Visitation will be Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 11:30-12:30 PM at Lane Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 12:30PM in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home. Interment and military rites will be held at 2:00 PM in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
