Lorene Ewton Evans, age 98, born March 20, 1919, passed away Saturday December 23, 2017 into Heaven to be with her Lord Jesus for Christmas.
Lorene was a longtime member of Signal Mountain Baptist Church, where she served as secretary, bookkeeper, and Sunday school teacher. She was also one of the original founding members of the church.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Evans; sons, Donald Evans and David Evans; sisters, Anna Lee Harmon, Mildred Ammons, and Evelyn Wilkes; brother, Charles Ewton; and parents, Will and Ruth Cunningham Ewton.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jill E. and Leland Albert Myers; granddaughter, Jennifer and Bryan Beasley; grandsons, Mike and Lila Evans, Timothy and Jennifer Evans, and Doug Evans; sisters, Marie Smith and Gertrude Narramore; five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to express a special thank you Kendra Coulter and the staff of Summit View Senior Community, Runyan Drive, Chattanooga for all their help and kindness given to Lorene in 2017.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made on Lorene’s name to Signal Mountain Baptist Church, 939 Ridgeway Avenue Signal Mountain, TN 37377.
The family will receive friends 11am until 1pm on Thursday at Lane Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1pm in the Chapel with the Reverend Steven Wright officiating.
