Linda Susan Godfrey, 67, of Chattanooga passed away June 28, 2017.

A native of Philadelphia, Linda earned her RN degree at Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing, where she began her successful career as nurse. She later brought her talents to hospitals in South Florida and Colorado before settling in Chattanooga in 1988. There, she joined the team at Erlanger, earning the trust and respect of her colleagues and serving in many roles, including Nurse Manager, before her retirement in 2011.
She was of the Russian Orthodox Christian faith.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Reuben Brown and Manya Baluk Brown, of Philadelphia, PA; brother in law, Dennis Godfrey and father in law, Peter Godfrey, both natives of Bugtussle, AL.

Linda is survived by her husband, Roger O. Godfrey; daughter, Jennifer Van Kirk; son, Jonathan Van Kirk; son in law, Jason Hillner; beloved family in Philadelphia and Alabama and dear friends in Pensacola, FL; and the many furry friends she loved to spoil.
She was a good woman, and a good pirate.
On her behalf, her family would like to thank the oncology team at Memorial Hospital, especially Drs. Ellis and Stipanov for their care and compassion.

Visitation with family and friends, in her honor will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 4-6 pm at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace in Chattanooga. Donations in Linda's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association of Southeast TN.
