Jimmie Lee Sanders Disheroon, 88, passed away January 12, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jennie Sanders, father, Theo Sanders; sisters, Luevina Rollins and Elvina Johnson Morrison.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Preston Disheroon; son, Gary Disheroon; daughter, Gwen Disheroon; sister, Glenna Layne. Jimmie leaves many nieces and nephews. She was especially close to Rhonda Lowrance and Stuart Layne, and cousins, Ruth Golston and Greg Picarillo.

Jimmie was a member of the Palmer Baptist Church and attended the Lupton Drive Baptist Church for 50 years. Jimmie was employed by Sears & Roebuck for 20 years. She worked in the shoe department and enjoyed meeting and talking to the people she met. Jimmie and Preston traveled the United States in their camper truck for several years fishing and seeing National Parks. She loved to visit new places, listen to Ernest Tubb, eat good cooking (especially seafood!) have fun and laugh a lot. She loved to sing the old hymns. Jimmie was feisty, light hearted, loyal, loving and a bright spirit. She was a blessing to all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday January 17, 2018 in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Special thanks and love to those who helped care for Jimmie- Kristy Patton, Amanda Metcalf and Charlie Scarborough. Thanks to the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga for their tender care.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jimmie’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Research Hospital for Children.
