  • Ed English
    Ed English, Managing Partner

    Ed began his career with the Coulter Funeral Home in 1971. He is married to Deborah Coulter English who’s great-grandfather, R. J. Coulter, founded the Coulter Funeral Home in 1897. They have one son, John Coulter English. In 1980, Ed became the manager of the Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel and has been the managing partner of the business since 1993. A licensed funeral director, Ed has been active in the North River community for 38 years. He has served as president of the North Chattanooga Lion’s Club, has served three different terms of council of the Red Bank Chamber of Commerce, where he presently serves as Vice President (Programs). He serves as general chairman for the Red Bank Jubilee. Ed is a member of Tennessee Funeral Directors Association. He is a member of the Red Bank Presbyterian Church where he serves as a Sunday School Teacher.

  • Gene Land
    Gene Land, Funeral Director / Embalmer

    Gene a 36 year employee is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Tennessee and Georgia. He has been married for over 32 years to Lynda Patton Land and father of daughter, Virginia“Ginny” Land. He is a member of Red Bank Baptist Church, where he serves as Associate Director of Young Adult III and is an ordained deacon. He is also involved with the music and drama programs. He is a member of Tennessee Funeral Directors Association and Red Bank Area Chamber. Former member and past president of the North River Kiwanis Club, Board of Directors of Red Bank Junior Miss.

  • Mike Kellar
    Mike Kellar, Funeral Director

    Mike began his career with Lane Funeral Home in 1973 as a bookkeeper and has been a licensed funeral director for many years. Mike has been married to his wife Pattie Roack Kellar for over 35 years and they have two grown daughters. Mike and Pattie are members of Red Bank United Methodist Church. He is a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association and the Red Bank Chamber of Commerce. Mike is a member of the Red Bank Lions Club, past president of the Chattanooga Valley Kiwanis Club and has been with Buckner International “Shoes for Orphans” project.

  • Tammy Walker
    Tammy Walker, Administrative Assistant

    Tammy has been an Administrative Assistant at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home since May of 1999. She has been with Carriage since August of 1997, beginning at the monument company, she was an etching artist having personally designed many markers and urns for families. Because of her artistic talents, she has been involved in many special projects at the Coulter Chapel. Tammy works with the families to personally create and design pictured memorial folders and other tributes to their loved ones. She is a member of Red Bank Chamber of Commerce. Tammy and Robert, her husband of 27 years, have two children, their son, Jacob, and daughter, Anna Marie. They attend Pilgrim’s RestBaptistChurch.

  • Glenn Smith
    Glenn Smith, Ambassador

    Glenn has been an Ambassador for Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel for many years. He is a World War II veteran, is a member and past president of Red Bank Lion's Club. Glenn and his wife of over 60 years, Bobbie, are members of North Chattanooga Church of God Ministry Center.

  • Virginia Turner
    Virginia Turner, Ambassador

    Virginia began working as an Ambassador for Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel in 1982. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga. Virginia has been active in ladies' organization of church having served as a circle leader. Presently, she is serving on Senior Adult Fellowship Committee as Corresponding Secretary.

  • Pat Lawler
    Pat Lawler, Ambassador

    Pat retired from a 25 year career at Erlanger Medical Center in 2005 and began working as an Ambassador for Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel in October 2008. Pat and her husband of 17 years share their love with a blended family of 5 children and 5 grandchildren. Pat and Bobby are members of Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank.

  • Wendell Merrell
    Wendell Merrell, Funeral Assistant

    Wendell is a funeral assistant at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel. He was born in Bersheba Springs, raised in Dalton, GA, and lives in Middle Valley with his wife of over 40 years, Nancy. They are the parents of two children, Christopher Merrell and Sheri Irion, and the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren. He attends North Chattanooga Church of God Ministry Center where he is an usher and is on the landscaping committee. Wendell retired from Dupont.

  • George Gulas
    George Gulas, Family Service Counselor

    George lived in Chattanooga for over 55 years and is former owner of Gulas Restaurant. He started in the funeral industry in 1997 as Family Service Counselor preplanning funerals. George and his wife, Cindy Turner Gulas, have two children, Elana and George Jr. They are members of Christ United Methodist Church in East Brainerd. George is a cancer survivor.
